YOUR CHANGE OF SCENERYTexas Hill Country

ROOM TO BREATHE4 days · 3 nights · Just 20 nurses

No patients waiting. No coworkers asking.
No family schedule to manage.
No list of things you should be doing instead.

Rocking chairs on a shaded wooden porch overlooking the green Texas Hill Country.
Or simply enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.

SOMETHING NURSES RARELY GET ENOUGH OF

Space.

Space to slow down.
Space to connect with nurses who get it.
Space to laugh.

To wander.
To linger over coffee.
To sit around the fire.
To take a nap in the middle of the afternoon.
To have a conversation that goes somewhere.

And maybe enough space to finally hear yourself answer
a question you don’t get asked nearly often enough:

What do I need?

COME AS YOU ARE

You don’t have to be falling apart to step away.

Maybe you’re tired.
Maybe you’re stretched a little thinner than you’d like.
Maybe you’re doing just fine.
Maybe you’re actually thriving.

You can love nursing and still want time away from it.

You can love your family and still want a few days when nobody needs you.

You can be grateful for the life you’ve built and still wonder what you want the next part of it to look like.

You can be successful and still crave something different.

And you don’t have to wait until you’re completely depleted before giving yourself permission to find out what that might be.

When we asked nurses what they wanted and needed, we heard about balance, fulfillment, meaningful connection, time to recharge, personal growth, and living with greater intention.

There isn’t one version of the nurse
who needs this experience.

Some nurses need to exhale.
Some need to reconnect.
Some want perspective.
Some want community.

Some want to remember what they enjoy when they aren’t taking care of someone else.

Some are standing at the edge of a new chapter and wondering what’s next.

And some can’t quite put their finger on what they need.

That’s okay.
You don’t have to arrive knowing.

Come as you are. Leave with what you needed.

RESERVE MY SPACE

DELIBERATELY DIFFERENT

So, what exactly
is an UNRETREAT™?

Good question. Because we intentionally chose a name
that doesn’t sound like everything else.

Two rocking chairs with blankets beside a glowing limestone fireplace, overlooking the Hill Country at sunset.

An UNRETREAT™ isn’t about escaping your life.
It isn’t about fixing yourself.

And it isn’t three days of people telling you what you should do differently when you get home.

We created something else.

Connection without networking.

No exchanging business cards because someone told you to. Instead, imagine long dinners, walks, conversations around the fire, unexpected friendships, and being surrounded by nurses who understand parts of your life without requiring the backstory.

Reflection without homework.

We’ll give you opportunities to think about what you want, what matters, and perhaps what you’d like more or less of.

But there is no assignment due Sunday morning.

Growth without grinding.

You don’t need another goal-setting marathon. Sometimes perspective comes because you finally stopped moving long enough to notice something.

Time away without a packed itinerary.

Yes, we’ll have experiences planned. We’ll gather. We’ll eat. We’ll talk. We’ll explore. We’ll create opportunities for reflection and connection.

But we will also intentionally leave space. Real space.

Luxury without pretension.

Beautiful surroundings. Comfortable accommodations. Nature. Great food. Time. Privacy.

And permission to enjoy all of it.

That is an UNRETREAT™.

YOUR VOICES. THIS EXPERIENCE.

We asked nurses
what they needed.
Then we listened.

Before creating this experience, we asked nurses about where they are now and what they want more of.

Their answers mattered.

Some told us they were functioning but not truly thriving. Others told us they were already thriving and wanted to continue growing.

Nurses told us they wanted time to recharge. They wanted better balance between caring for other people and caring for themselves.

They wanted greater fulfillment.
They wanted to live with more intention.

And many told us they were interested in a retreat but needed more information before deciding.

So we listened.

The Nurse UNRETREAT™ isn’t being built around what we think nurses should need.

It’s being built around
what nurses told us they want.

  • Space.
  • Connection.
  • Nature.
  • Reflection.
  • Comfort.
  • Community.
  • Possibility.
An aerial view of Hill Country Retreats, with individual casitas, winding paths, and a pool nestled among green wooded hills.

And enough breathing room to experience those things
without rushing through them.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF LUXURY

The luxury isn’t
just the casita.

The luxury is having nowhere else
you’re supposed to be.

Imagine arriving at The UNRETREAT™ on Thursday afternoon.

You drive into the Texas Hill Country.
The noise begins to fade.
You find your casita.
You put down your bag.

Maybe you unpack.
Maybe you don’t.

Maybe you walk outside.
Maybe you make a cup of coffee
and sit somewhere quiet.

And then it hits you.

You don’t have
to rush anywhere.

A light-filled casita bedroom with a blue throw, natural wood furnishings, and doors opening onto a porch overlooking the Hill Country.

Nobody is paging you.
Nobody is waiting for you to finish charting.
Nobody is asking what’s for dinner.
Nobody needs a ride.
Nobody needs you to solve something.

For the next few days, you have somewhere beautiful to be and very little you’re required to do.

That is a different
kind of luxury.

THE SPACE IS PART OF THE EXPERIENCE

We intentionally left parts
of the agenda blank.

Yes. Really.

An inviting Hill Country pool with blue lounge chairs, shaded umbrellas, and open sky.

Not because we couldn’t think of enough activities.
We could fill every hour.

We chose not to.

Because when was the last time you had a few hours when nothing was due, nobody needed you, and there was nowhere else you were supposed to be?

You might nap.

  • Read.
  • Explore.
  • Sit outside.
  • Talk with someone you just met.
  • Spend time alone.
  • Take a walk.
  • Write.
  • Laugh.

Do absolutely nothing.

We aren’t going to turn your free time into another assignment.

The space is part of the experience.

RESERVE MY SPACE

FOUR DAYS. ROOM TO FIND YOUR OWN RHYTHM.

What your UNRETREAT™
might look like.

This isn’t a minute-by-minute schedule. That’s the point.
But here’s a glimpse of the rhythm we’re creating.

  1. THURSDAY · APRIL 15

    Arrive.

Come in. Settle into your casita. Explore the property. Meet the other nurses. Grab a cocktail or mocktail.

Then we’ll gather around the table for a beautiful welcome dinner.

And when we introduce ourselves? We don’t need your résumé. We already know you’re a nurse.

We’d rather know something about you.

  2. FRIDAY · APRIL 16

    Exhale.

Wake up slowly. Have coffee. Eat breakfast. Take a walk. Spend time outside. Have a conversation you didn’t know you needed.

We’ll create a few meaningful experiences designed to help you slow down, connect, and notice what you’ve been too busy to notice.

And then? There will be time when nothing is scheduled.

We highly recommend doing exactly what you want with it.

  3. SATURDAY · APRIL 17

    Reimagine.

After you’ve had time to slow down, we’ll make room for a different kind of question.

Not: What should I accomplish next?
    But:

What do I want more of?

More connection? More adventure? More quiet? More creativity? More purpose? More laughter? More freedom? More time? More of yourself?

You don’t have to arrive knowing the answer. That’s part of the reason you’re coming.

Saturday evening, we’ll gather for a beautiful celebration dinner and one final night together.

  4. SUNDAY · APRIL 18

    Take it
    with you.

Slow breakfast. Coffee. Conversation. Photos. Hugs. One final gathering before we leave.

No final exam. No giant workbook. No 90-day improvement plan.

    Just one question:

What are you taking home that wasn’t in your suitcase when you arrived?

And then you’ll head home. Hopefully with exactly what you needed.

Come as you are.
Leave with what you needed.

THERE’S ROOM FOR YOU HERE

Come alone.
Seriously.

You don’t need to wait until you find someone willing to come with you.

You don’t need a travel companion.
You don’t need to know anyone before you arrive.

And you certainly don’t have to be an extrovert.

A sunny covered porch at Hill Country Retreats with chairs gathered around a limestone fireplace and a blue table.

There are only 20 of us.

We’ll create natural opportunities to connect without forcing you into awkward networking activities or mandatory vulnerability.

Want to join the conversation?
Come sit with us.
Want to walk with someone?
Ask.
Want an hour alone?
Take it.
Want to go back to your casita and nap?
We’ll see you later.

You get to decide what you need.

SMALL ON PURPOSE

Twenty nurses.
That’s it.

Not 100 nurses. Not 50.

We’re keeping The Nurse UNRETREAT™ small on purpose.

Because something changes when the room gets smaller.

  • People stop disappearing into the crowd.
  • Conversations get longer.
  • Names become stories.
  • Meals become gatherings.
  • Strangers become people you’re genuinely glad you met.

We want you to leave knowing more than someone’s name and job title.

We want there to be room for actual relationships to form.

Connection without networking.

That’s hard to create with hundreds of people.
It’s entirely possible with 20.

Once those 20 spaces are reserved,
registration closes.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

This might be exactly
what you’re looking for.

If…

  • You’re functioning just fine but know there’s more to life than getting through another week.
  • You’re tired of waiting until you’re completely depleted before giving yourself permission to step away.
  • You’re doing well and want space to think about what comes next.
  • You’re craving meaningful connection with nurses without attending another professional networking event.
  • You’d love a few days surrounded by nature.
  • You want beautiful surroundings and enough privacy to actually enjoy them.
  • You’re navigating a transition in your career or life.
  • You want more intention in the way you’re living.
  • You miss parts of yourself that have nothing to do with being a nurse.
  • You’d like to meet nurses whose lives, careers, and stories are different from your own.

You want to laugh. You want to think. You want to wander.
You want to sleep. You want to connect.

Or perhaps you read the words “four days when nobody needs anything from you” and thought:

Yes. That.

You don’t need a better reason.

IT STARTS WITH ASKING

What if your employer
could help pay?

Before assuming the entire investment has to come out of your pocket, consider asking.

Your employer may have funding available for professional development, employee well-being, leadership development, retention initiatives, or other employee benefits.

We can’t promise they’ll say yes.

But we’ve made it easier
for you to ask.

And remember:

They can’t say yes to a question
you never ask.

Warm lights shine from limestone casitas along a quiet Hill Country drive beneath a pink and gold sunset.

TIME TO MAKE ROOM FOR YOU

There is another reason we’re telling you about this now.

Nurses need time to plan.

Life doesn’t stop because you decide to attend a retreat.

We understand that.
That’s why we’re giving you time.

You may need to…

  • Request PTO.
  • Arrange shift coverage.
  • Coordinate schedules with your spouse or partner.
  • Plan for children.
  • Help arrange care for a parent.
  • Find someone to take care of the animals.
  • Plan your travel.
  • Talk with your employer.
  • Budget.

But having time to plan and waiting until the last minute to decide are two very different things.

There are only 20 spaces.

You can reserve yours now and use the months ahead to take care of the logistics.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING

Frequently asked questions.

Do I have to come with someone?

Absolutely not. In fact, we expect some nurses will arrive without knowing anyone else. Keeping the group to only 20 people gives us the opportunity to create connection naturally throughout the weekend.

Come alone. You won’t be alone for long unless you want to be.

Is this only for nurses who are burned out?

No. You don’t have to be burned out, unhappy, struggling, or ready to leave nursing.

You might need a break. You might be navigating change. You might be doing wonderfully and simply want more space for connection, reflection, or what’s next.

There is no crisis required for admission.

Will I receive nursing continuing education credit for attending?

Yes. Up to 12 contact hours of nursing continuing education are available for participants who choose to complete them.

But here’s what makes The Nurse UNRETREAT™ deliberately different:

You are not required to spend your retreat sitting in classes or completing continuing education.

The available CE activities have been thoughtfully selected with your restoration, relaxation, and personal growth in mind. You can access them at your own discretion and choose the activities that are meaningful to you.

Complete all 12 contact hours. Complete a few. Or complete none at all during your retreat.

The choice is yours.

This is your UNRETREAT™. We want continuing education to add value to your experience, not become another obligation on your schedule.

Will there be classes?

This is not designed like a traditional conference or classroom event.

The weekend will include guided experiences, conversations, reflection, nature, shared meals, and other opportunities to connect and explore.

We intentionally do not want you spending your UNRETREAT™ sitting through slide presentations.

Is everything mandatory?

No. We hope you’ll participate in the shared experiences that make the weekend special, but this retreat is built around honoring what you need.

Sometimes that might mean joining everyone. Sometimes it might mean taking some time for yourself.

Will I have free time?

Absolutely. We are intentionally protecting unscheduled time.

We don’t consider that empty space in the agenda. We consider it part of what you’re coming for.

What if I’m introverted?

Welcome. This is not a weekend of forced networking or nonstop group participation.

There will be opportunities to connect as well as room to step away.

What should I wear?

Comfortable. We’ll provide more specific packing recommendations as the retreat approaches, but this isn’t an event where you need a professional wardrobe.

Leave the conference clothes at home.

Can my employer pay for the retreat?

Possibly. Every employer and benefit program is different, so we cannot guarantee reimbursement.

But we have created an Employer Reimbursement Guide to help you make the request.

GET THE EMPLOYER REIMBURSEMENT GUIDE
Are payment plans available?

Yes. Choose to pay in full or spread your investment over multiple payments, depending on when you register. The earlier you reserve your space, the more time you have to pay.

All retreat balances must be paid in full by April 1, 2027, 14 days before The Nurse UNRETREAT™ begins.

VIEW PAYMENT OPTIONS
What is the cancellation/refund policy?

All payments are non-refundable. Registrations may be transferred to another eligible attendee with prior approval. A signed retreat agreement is required to participate.

How do I get to The UNRETREAT™?

We recommend flying into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), approximately one hour from Hill Country Casitas. San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is another option and is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes away.

Because Hill Country Casitas is intentionally tucked away in the Texas Hill Country, rideshare availability near the property can be limited. We recommend planning your ground transportation in advance.

Additional arrival, transportation, and ride-sharing information will be provided to registered participants before the UNRETREAT™.

I have another question. Who should I ask?

We’d love to help.

YOUR TIME MATTERS, TOO

You can keep waiting
for things to slow down.

For staffing to improve.
For work to calm down.
For your calendar to clear.
For everyone around you to need a little less.
For the perfect time.

But after years of nursing, you probably already know:

There will always be something.

Someone will need you.
Something will need to be done.
Another responsibility will find its way onto the calendar.
Another month will pass.
Another year can pass.

So perhaps the question isn’t:
When will I finally have the time?

Maybe the question is:

When will I decide
that my time matters, too?

You don’t need to be falling apart.
You don’t need to justify wanting to go.

You don’t need to know exactly what you’re hoping to find.
And you don’t need to arrive as any particular version of yourself.

Come as you are.
We’ll meet you there.
